Twenty-five years of the Three-year Course at the Fondazione Studio Marangoni.

Years in which the school founded its own line of thought, its own poetics, its vision, all shared and embraced by many of the students who in time have attended its classes. A vision that finds its roots in project planning and in an approach that is artistic, human, informal.

A vision that aims at continuous renewal, maintaining however a strong bond with the history and traditions of photography.

Guided by this same vision, the school invited former students to join up as a collective and to engage in the realization of a project to celebrate these achievements, passing the baton to a “younger” approach, to quote the director Martino Marangoni.

A call for proposals was sent to present and former students, and we as a collective selected the most meritorious projects regardless of the fact that the artist was already a famous photographer or still a young student.

Twenty-five authors have been chosen.

Twenty-five prints, one for each author.

Three hundred caskets: small cardboard boxes which recall packages filled with souvenirs, carte-de-visite, notes, like traces of a journey. A trunk that has been reopened after a twenty-five-year long voyage: an old photographic tradition encounters the contemporary through the photos of the selected artists.
