The Lebanese photographer Dalia Khamissy tells the stories of Syrian refugees in Lebanon and their desire to return to Syria. In March 2011, what began as a series of protests against the Syrian regime soon turned into an armed conflict that has lasted for over 8 years. Hundreds of thousands of refugees escaped from Syria seeking refuge in neighboring countries. In Lebanon alone over a million refugees have crossed the border in search of security. Since 2011, Dalia Khamissy, one of the most acclaimed photographers of the Middle Eastern, has traveled through Lebanon telling the stories of Syrian refugees: portraits and moments of everyday life told with great artistic intensity. And while she told these stories with her lens, everyone dreamed of the end of the war and their return home, “Until We Return”.
