School of Contemporary Art Photography in Florence

Fondazione Studio Marangoni is an international non-profit center of contemporary art photography based in Florence, Italy. Founded in 1989 by the photographer Martino Marangoni the goal of Fondazione Studio Marangoni is to promote the art and to educate students of photography from around the world in Italy.

FSM offers a unique opportunity to study in Italy and receive an advanced photographic education. This unique photography school in Florence teaches the traditional technical skills of photography within the context of a contemporary art dialogue. Teaching methods include classroom study, tutorials and workshops; providing a well-rounded training in both commercial and fine art photography.

The center also promotes the exhibition and dissemination of contemporary international photography and photographers.

The center has two locations: at Via San Zanobi 32R two black&white darkrooms are accompanied by 20 working stations and a digital classroom with 14 working stations. In the new space at Via San Zanobi 19R, fsmgallery, an expansive exhibition space complements additional classrooms, a photographic studio, a library with over two thousand volumes and an extensive collection of magazines; all enhance the learning experience for students attending the photography school.
