One of the primary missions of Fondazione Studio Marangoni is the organization of local and international exhibitions.
FSM's exhibitions have ranged from faculty shows to two
biennial festivals, the Biennale di Fotografia in Florence and Prato,
held in exhibition spaces throughout the city in 2000 and 2002, and
Focus on Italy organized in various exhibition spaces in New York City
in 1999 and 2001. The exhibition Paesaggi Italiani (Italian Landscapes)
was held in the Reali Poste exhibition space of the Uffizi Gallery in
1998.
In the last few years FSM has been invited to curate shows at major photographic
festivals such as the Houston Fotofest, USA and the Rencontres
Internationales de la Photographie in Arles and has organized a touring
exhibition in the United States of the work of Luigi Ghirri.
In
addition to hosting over 30 exhibitions, FSM provides
the Italian photography community with a forum unlike any other in the
country and at the same time collaborates with various foreign
governmental institutions such as the British Council, the Institut
Culturel Français and the Communauté Française de la Belgique.
